[Featured Books]
In this section, we'll discuss
Featured Books in answer to visitors' question and Members' interests.
Current "Feature"
is Ordinary
People As Monks & Mystics (Paulist Press), describing
the diverse life style choices of men and women who are actively
shaping a contemplative, or at least simplified, life. OPMM was
the precurser to our work on vocation (aka right livelihood).
Many of our visitors ask whether it's possible to study this
book in some adult-education setting.
An idea...
If we're able --
i.e., trained? qualified? disposed? credentialed? -- why not
start a discussion group of suitable others (e.g., as an adult
education class or salon type activity for your peers or like
minded friends, or teach a college class, etc.) around the OPMM
principles? Let each participant read his/her own book, make
notes, margin questions, etc.
Meet once
per month or quarter, to focus on one chapter at a time, in sequence
-- so many side issues, lifestyle and vocational issues. There
are already such groups, although at this time The Center does
not connect either facilitators or classes. Also, Sometimes,
Enough is Enough
offers ideas for long-distance chats with friends, via regularized
phone conferences.

think about this idea? If you've run such a course, please comment.
